Green stops
Urban Design
2020
I have always been interested in the link between urban environment and wellbeing. Through a qualitative research I studied
Mestre - Venice’s suburb - known for its bad reputation to find out an urban solution designed specifically for the city.
The outcome is a system of modular structures, that can be composed in different ways, at every bus stop. The citizens can take
advantage of these transitional spaces to interact and socialise, feeling safer and happier to go out. This system is supposed
to become a sort of Mestre’s symbol, making the city more alive and increasing the sense of ownership.
The citizens can propose their design ideas for an installation through the website “design your stop”.
